My experience at Vertu MINI Yeovil

I was happy with the service at Vertu MINI Yeovil because Jake was helpful and polite.
However what I wasn’t happy with was that the car had not been valeted and polished as promised when we collected it.
Also they liked you to take out finance by offering you £500 towards the car.
This is in the realms of being mid-sold because if we hadn’t of paid the maximum deposit our first repayment would have been more than the £500 offered. As it happened our interest for one month was still over £200! If anyone wants to pay cash but is offered this incentive they should be made aware they could end up paying more if they don’t put the maximum deposit down.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, this is essential to us to ensure we are offering our customers good value and a great service.

I am aware of the issues with the cleanliness with your car, it is fair to say that we have had quality issues with our valeting contractors, these issues are being addressed, I have seen a huge improvement in this area and I will continue to ensure the quality is right first time.

With regards to the finance, the purpose of the deposit contribution is to lower the amount borrowed which in turn reduces the overall borrowing cost, the APR remains the same, this helps us to compete, legitimately, when we are faced with a lower APR from an alternative lender, however, it is absolutely vital that we are not offering the deposit contribution in any other way. My priority is to ensure complete FCA compliance by treating customers fairly throughout, which means we must be wholly transparent.

I have briefed my management team to ensure that the deposit contribution is being explained correctly.

Please accept my sincere apologies, I take a huge amount of pride in delivering the companies mission statement, which is to deliver an outstanding motoring experience through honesty and trust, on this occasion I have not met the mark, rest assured I am working with my management team and our external contractors to make sure that we do.
